Shame doesn’t work that way. Shame says you ARE the threat. You’re the flaw. You’re the mistake. When fear hits, the response is “Protect myself from this situation.” When shame hits, the response is “Hide myself from exposure” because there’s no situation to escape. The defect is internal, permanent, and will eventually be revealed.
INTEGRATE: The Debrief That Builds
Punishment kills performance. When a STRAY occurs, most traders respond with self-attack or avoidance, neither of which produces learning.
Integration treats the slip as diagnostic information: what triggered this? What was the state? What pattern emerged? It also means building the previous four pillars into your trading day so they become automatic rather than effortful.
Skill: One slip doesn’t become a cascade.
